Borderlands 4 DLC Idea Would Be Exciting for BL2 Fans

A fan of the Borderlands series shares their idea for a DLC, which would be a campaign bringing back an iconic Borderlands 2 DLC location.

One fan of the Borderlands franchise recently shared their idea about a potential DLC for the next entry in the series, Borderlands 4. While Borderlands 4 has yet to be officially announced by Gearbox, the likelihood of another title in the popular looter shooter franchise is quite high. Many Borderlands fans are already sharing their wishlist for characters and locations to return to in the follow-up to the 2019 Borderlands 3.

The Borderlands franchise is known for its various DLC campaigns and locations, which have remained in players’ minds for years following each game’s release. Some of the most notable DLCs within the Borderlands series are “Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage” and “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep,” which served as the main inspiration for the Borderlands spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Recently one fan took to Reddit to share their hopes that an iconic location, or a similar one, from Borderlands 2 will return in potential future entries to the Borderlands series.

Reddit user LoCaL_dRuNkArD shared a lengthy text post detailing their desire to see a location like Wam Bam Island, which was featured in the Borderlands 2 DLC “Sir Hammerlock vs the Son of Crawmerax” and set on a tropical resort, in a DLC for Borderlands 4. They start by saying that Wam Bam Island is one of the most beautiful locations within the franchise and that they feel it’s a shame that no similar locations have been featured within the main Borderlands titles. They go on to say that in a future DLC Wam Bam Island could return, or perhaps a location based on one of the so-called paradise planets.

Commenters on LoCaL_dRuNkArD’s post shared their own thoughts about the idea of Wam Bam Island’s return, as well as joke about how Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands already somewhat fulfills LoCaL_dRuNkArD’s wish. One commenter mentions Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, poking fun at how the idea of a tropical location has already been done in the Borderlands spin-off game. Another writes that they would prefer another planet, as they feel like Wam Bam Island does not fit Pandora. While no official details about Borderlands 4 have been revealed yet, that hasn’t stopped fans from already speculating as to what the next entry in the Borderlands franchise could feature.

Borderlands is an iconic franchise that was partially responsible for popularizing the looter shooter genre. Although Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands had a lackluster performance, fans of the Borderlands franchise still eagerly await the next entry in the iconic first-person shooter franchise.
