For the short and sweet answer, to obtain The Swarm LMG, players must wait until it is the featured Nightfall weapon in a given week. Each week, one weapon is featured as the main reward for completing a Nightfall, six in total. So if The Swarm is available during a given week, Guardians will only have that one week to obtain the weapon. When the week ends, they must wait five weeks for it to return.

However, the good thing is that they only need to acquire it once. With the arrival of the Lightfall DLC, a new system came, and players will now be able to focus for the gun at Zavala after they obtain it once. Guardians can spend their Vanguard Engrams to get a God Roll of the weapon. Although, players should keep in mind that if they want an Adept version of The Swarm, they will need to wait until it is the featured weapon during a week when Grandmaster Nightfalls are available.

What Is The God Roll For The Swarm?

Destiny 2-The Swarm Perk Selection

Regarding God Rolls, players should understand how the weapon works when determining what perks to choose. The Swarm is an Arc Heavy Machine gun, which is primarily used in PvE activities. Thus, the God Roll that players should look for is Dynamic Sway Reduction and Target Lock.

Dynamic Sway Reduction improves the gun’s accuracy and stability the longer the trigger is held. On the other hand, Target Lock increases the weapon’s damage the trigger is held. These perks go hand in hand with one another, making it a top-tier option for Arc 3.0 builds.

While it isn’t recommended, for those who wish to use The Swarm in PvP activities, the God Roll would be Dynamic Sway Reduction and Vorpal Weapon. Dynamic Sway Reduction is far and away the best perk in the left column, and Vorpal Weapon will grant increased damage against other Guardians using their super. This makes the weapon a solid option when trying to shut down opposing Guardians in their super, specifically roaming supers like Daybreak or Fist of Havoc.

As far as Barrel, Magazine, and Masterwork go, players should primarily focus on Range and Handling since Dynamic Sway Reduction will help with the stability. Therefore, players should look for Arrowhead Brake for the Barrel, Accurized Rounds for the Magazine, and a Range Masterwork. This applies to both PvE and PvP God Rolls.

Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
