Dragon’s Dogma 2 Players Discover Working Trebuchets, Secret Areas

Dragon’s Dogma 2 continues to be the gift that keeps giving, with players reporting overnight the discovery of how to use the many catapults trebuchets (and ballista) left scattered around Capcom’s reactive game world (though some are clearly destroyed). Even more exciting, the power and torque of these beautiful machines of siege warfare, reputedly able to launch 90kg projectiles over 300 meters in reality, can be used to smash open previously undiscovered secret areas in the game.

IGN spotted a clip from Twitter user Peppo_LS that purports to show off this secret, which, as you might imagine, has kicked off a scouring of the entire game. Being trebuchets and not catapults, these weapons work on a counterweight system and launch projectiles in a flatter arc, not unlike a cannon, and so the secret lies in placing a nearby stone in the sometimes concealed sling.

Just yesterday, we learned of the existence of Dragonsplague, a mysterious affliction spreading through players’ Pawns which can be cured by drowning them. We’re huge fans of the game here, having put a numbered score on the game in our review after taking some extra time and careful consideration.
