Fan Made Bloodborne Kart Reveals Father Gascoigne Boss Fight

Bloodborne has joined the likes of Half-Life and Titanfall, where any news about a sequel, remaster, or PC port is probably someone trying to pull off an extremely dated April Fool’s prank. We just need to let these IPs go and imagine that everyone lived happily ever after. However, there are some who deal with this by creating their own projects based on their favourite IP. For instance, Half-Life received a fan-made remaster, while Bloodbore received… a kart racer.

Bloodborne Kart is currently in development by Lilith Walther. You may recognise that name as the creator of the Bloodborne PSX demake, which became so popular that it was downloaded than 100,000 in just less than a day. Walther announced Bloodborne Kart back in March last year, and said that it would be ready when it’s ready. However, it looks like the project has hit a major milestone, as it revealed a work-in-progress showcase of the Father Gascoigne boss fight.

As for how the boss fight was converted into a kart racer, it involves chasing Gascoigne as he tries to evade you on his motorcycle (thanks, GameRant). The player has to keep up with him, while at the same time dodging obstacles. You’ll have to pick up items like silver bullets to slowly bring his health down and begin the second phase of the fight.

After getting his health down to a certain level, Father Gascoigne will crash his motorcycle. He will then tear off a gatling gun and attack you. The level will turn from a race course into an arena. You then need to dodge Gascoigne’s bullets as you pick up your own and shoot him. Of course, this project is still work in progress, so things might change with the final launch.

While the project is still far from being officially launched, it appears that people are already hyped by what they’ve seen till now. Perhaps it’s the lack of any official Bloodborne projects, or maybe it’s the creative twist on the Soulslike formula, but the comments are extremely positive.

“I could not even begin to imagine you were also developing a campaign mode for this, and with bosses and phases referencing the [original] game nonetheless,” said one comment. “I’m dumbstruck, I friggin love this stuff”.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive reception, viewers did have some points of feedback. Some felt that Father Gascoigne’s health bar was a bit too big for this kind of format, while others suggested that the game would benefit by some sort of health pick-up. Walther pointed out that this isn’t the final build, and that there are a lot more features to be added and polishing to be done before the official launch.
