A lot of hidden exploration objectives are available in Genshin Impact 3.1, where one of the available tasks is collecting Slates to restore a Primal Obelisk. However, what many may not know is that there are a total of 10 Primal Obelisks to restore.
Luckily, restoring these monuments isn’t too hard as the Primal Obelisk will direct people to the required Slate’s location. In fact, what’s harder is finding the Obelisk itself. If Travelers are having difficulties in locating the monuments, here’s where and how they can find each Primal Obelisk location in Genshin Impact.
Primal Obelisk Locations In Genshin Impact
The A Well-Trained Archaeologist Achievement in Genshin Impact is a reward for restoring all 10 Primal Obelisks available in the desert area of Sumeru 3.1. In total, three Primal Obelisks exist on the surface level (star symbol), while the other seven are deep underground (Hilichurl mask symbol). Most of them are rather easy to find, but some can be quite a hassle.
Keep in mind that players must first obtain full Genshin Impact clearance before they attempt to get this achievement.
Primal Obelisk Location #1
For the first Primal Obelisk location in Genshin Impact, head to Khaj-Nisut and drop to the bottom of the area. Players will find a Primal Obelisk at the marked spot. Here, there’s also a mural for the Beyond The Shadow Of Time Genshin Impact Achievement.
Primal Obelisk Location #2
The second Primal Obelisk location can be found in Abdju Pit, and it’s the hardest one to reach, so make sure to follow the direction carefully.
First, head to the marked Teleport Waypoint (white circle), and follow the black route to the red X mark.
At the X mark, there should be a hole. Plunge down into it.
At the bottom of the hole, there will be more halls to explore. Follow the black route to reach an elevator (white circle).
The elevator will lead players to a room with a large statue. From here, head to the hole in the wall on the other side (red arrow).
Walk (or glide) down the stairs, then turn left at the bottom. Another elevator is waiting as soon as Travelers turn left.
After riding the final elevator, simply follow through the halls to the marked spot to reach the second Primal Obelisk.
Primal Obelisk Location #3
The next Primal Obelisk is located in Thutmose’s secret base in Genshin Impact. After getting the password and entering the hideout, simply follow the black route to find the third Obelisk.
Primal Obelisk Location #4
This Primal Obelisk is located on the surface and can be found effortlessly.
Primal Obelisk Location #5
The fifth Primal Obelisk is also an easy one. Simply teleport to the Garden of Endless Pillars domain in Genshin Impact, then head to the marked ruins. The Primal Obelisk can be found on top of the ruins, so don’t hesitate to climb.
Primal Obelisk Location #6
Use the Teleport Waypoint in Genshin Impact Sekhem Hall to reach this Primal Obelisk.
Utilize the Four-Leaf Sigils at Sekhem Hall and exit the place using the nearest gate. From here, simply follow the black route to the marked location.
Primal Obelisk Location #7
The seventh Primal Obelisk can be reached by using either the Teleport Waypoint on its west or east. There’s no special route or method to find this monument.
Primal Obelisk Location #8
Head to The Mausoleum of King Deshret and walk inside until players come across a hole in the floor. Paimon will talk about this passage if it’s the Travelers’ first time revisiting the building.
Drop down the hole and go to the middle area to reach the eighth Primal Obelisk.
Primal Obelisk Location #9
Use the Teleport Waypoint north of the Scarlet King Mausoleum, then enter the ruins via the lowest passage.
In the Secret of Al-Ahmar quest in Genshin Impact, players are tasked to find two Primal Embers to proceed deeper within the ruins. In the room where there are four Everlight Cells mechanism, head to the door on the left (A and B side).
The ninth Primal Obelisk is waiting right behind the door.
Primal Obelisk Location #10
The final Primal Obelisk can only be reached once players collect all Glinting Components in Genshin Impact. Use the Teleport Waypoint on the southwest corner of the Mausoleum of King Deshret, then walk northwest to find a door that’ll lead to the final Primal Obelisk.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
