How good are the current banners?
Disclaimer: There is no pity for a specific 4-star character or weapon. Do not pull for a specific 4-star unless you are prepared to pull several 5-stars along the way. The weapon banner is even more punishing than the character banners. Do not pull unless you are okay with receiving at least one of each featured weapon.
5-Star Characters
Chiori and Arataki Itto are both solid Geo DPS options. If you decide to build a Geo team, then Chiori is a great off-fielder while Itto is a strong on-fielder. They are somewhat handicapped by their element, since Geo does not have access to strong reactions. Both of them also have specific synergies with Geo teammates, which can pigeonhole them into Geo teams. Chiori and Itto are both strong, but if you pull them, you need to commit to building and playing Geo teams with little flexibility.
4-Star Characters
If you are pulling for Itto, you will definitely want Gorou. Gorou’s Constellation 6 in particular is a huge boost to Itto’s damage. Yun Jin is a great support for characters who use Normal Attacks, like Yoimiya or Ayato. Dori is the least useful of the three, with no strong niches outside of her unique means of Electro application.
5-Star Weapons
Chiori’s signature Sword, Uraku Misugiri, is her best-in-slot by a decent margin. If you don’t have Cinnabar Spindle or Primordial Jade Cutter, then it might be worth considering. Itto’s signature Claymore, Redhorn Stonethresher, is also his best weapon, but Serpent Spine is a close second. Beacon of the Reed Sea is also a competitive option for Itto, and since it’s available on the Chronicled Wish banner, you might have an easier time obtaining it.
4-Star Weapons
Aside from The Bell, the featured 4-star weapons are quite good. Alley Hunter is a great option for Fischl, and Dragon’s Bane can be used on any character who likes Elemental Mastery. Alley Flash and Favonius Codex see less demand, but they have their uses. The Bell is the only weapon here that doesn’t have a good use case. Alley Hunter and Alley Flash are not in the standard weapon pool, so banners like these are the only ways to obtain them.
Chronicled Wish Banner
The Chronicled Wish banner is an opportunity to get older characters you might have missed out on. Eula, Klee, and Albedo are not considered particularly meta, but they can still clear the Abyss with proper investment.
As for weapons, Beacon of the Reed Sea is a good Claymore for many characters, including Itto and Eula. Hunter’s Path is Tighnari’s signature Bow, but also works great on Ganyu. Song of Broken Pines can be used by Eula or Freminet.
Beacon of the Reed Sea and Hunter’s Path are not likely to appear in banners outside of Chronicled Wish. If you want these weapons, then there is some pressure to pull on this banner, but if you lose your 50/50, your Fate Points won’t carry over to the next Chronicled Wish banner. Only pull if you have enough currency to guarantee what you want.
