Genshin Impact Fans Aren’t Happy With PlayStation Exclusive Sword’s Stats
Genshin Impact fans are unhappy about the stats for the Sword of Descension weapon, which is exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game. The Sword of Descension may be equipped by the Traveler and fellow sword users like Kamisato Ayato, Kaedehara Kazuha, and Albedo in Genshin Impact.
Nearly every update for Genshin Impact introduces new playable characters and weapons to obtain. Players may summon a new character from the latest event wish, and the character’s signature weapon may be summoned from the Epitome Invocation wish, which is refreshed during for each phase. Epitome Invocation weapons are typically tailored to the characters that a player may summon during a particular update. For instance, Genshin Impact version 3.5 added playable character Dehya and her powerful Beacon of the Reed Sea weapon. Unlike the Beacon of the Reed Sea, the Sword of Descension weapon is currently being scrutinized for its lack of power in Genshin Impact.
Reddit user u/Fireboy759 and fellow Genshin Impact fans aren’t happy about the stats for the PlayStation exclusive weapon, Sword of Descension. Although the sword has an appealing design, its passive ability is lackluster and overall stats leave much to be desired by Genshin Impact players. For example, the Descension passive ability raises the Traveler’s attack by only 66 points when equipping the sword, and no other character may receive this attack bonus. Additionally, the Sword of Descension weapon has a 50% chance to trigger a small AoE attack that deals 200% damage based on the character’s current attack stat. As a result, players are unhappy with the sword’s performance since Genshin Impact has many more powerful swords to equip for potential character builds.
Alongside the Sword of Descension, PlayStation players were given the Wings of Descension glider in Genshin Impact on launch day. Moreover, Aloy from Horizon Forbidden West was added to Genshin Impact as a PlayStation exclusive character in the version 2.1 update. Aloy was made available on all platforms in Genshin Impact version 2.2, however.
Genshin Impact’s Sword of Descension appears to be a beginner-tier weapon during the player’s early adventure through the Mondstadt region. Afterward, the sword becomes trivial due to its lack of a stat boosting passive ability for a majority of the roster. The 66 attack damage bonus for the Traveler is inconsequential when compared to the abilities granted by powerful swords such as Mistsplitter Reforged and Primordial Jade Cutter.
Fortunately, HoYoverse will likely introduce more powerful weapons in future updates like Genshin Impact version 3.7 and version 3.8. Players can also expect a new catalyst weapon in Genshin Impact version 3.6, which will also bring playable characters Baizhu and Kaveh.
Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
