God Of War Ragnarok’s Black Bear Cloak Changes Color Based On Your Armor

A very dedicated, or at least very perceptive, user on Reddit going by the name of oJuuc recently discovered a secret feature relating to the Cloak of the Black Bear in God of War: Ragnarok. This particular piece of clothing actually changes color depending on the waist armor worn, adding a unique spin to the available options.

The color of the Cloak of the Black Bear can change to green, gray, or black depending on the waist armor that you have equipped. The feature has of course never been publicly announced by the developers, making it a rather nice little surprise for the many God of War fans who have been eagerly exploring the game since launch.

While players have so far discovered only three waist armors that cause the Cloak of the Black Bear to change color, the discovery has provoked a substantial amount of excitement within the community, leading fans to search long and hard for more hidden features. The Cloak of the Black Bear was just introduced in the highly anticipated New Game Plus mode which launched in the form of a huge update earlier this week. This introduced a variety of new items for players to acquire and there may of course be many more hidden discoveries yet to come.

God of War: Ragnarok has a feature called transmogrification which allows players to change the appearance of their armor without affecting the stats, choosing the look they prefer without worrying about losing any bonuses. According to oJuuc, the Cloak of the Black Bear changes color even when using transmogrification, adding even further customization options for Kratos.

While the post by oJuuc only deals with the Cloak of the Black Bear, there is of course a possibility that other armors may react differently when paired together, something which has led fans to speculate about what other hidden features may still be waiting to be discovered in God of War: Ragnarok. There could be more surprises in store for players, even just in this latest update.

The Cloak of the Black Bear has been a favorite among fans ever since it was first revealed in the cover art for the game several months prior to launch. This of course featured Kratos wearing a similar piece of clothing. The game’s already extensive customization options allowed players to tailor the clothing to their liking, but this new feature adds quite a bit of additional depth to the game. Fans are eagerly exploring this new feature in search of more surprises and it seems that God of War: Ragnarok might just have a little bit more to offer in terms of hidden gems.
