Heroic’s win at the Blast Premier Fall Final saw them take a big step towards securing their first World Finals title when they secured the victory with a big win over FaZe in Copenhagen. The Danish team dominated the CS: GO fixture, winning the BLAST Premier Fall Final, and putting themselves in the box seat heading into December’s World Finals. We look at how Heroic won, and how the team is positioned ahead of the year’s final tournament.

Heroic Claim Three-Map Win Over ~FaZe at BLAST Premier Fall Final

Team Heroic gave their home fans exactly what they wanted over the weekend, scoring a big win in Copenhagen over fellow CS: GO rivals FaZe.

After both teams navigated the BLAST Premier group stages, Team Heroic and Team FaZe again met in the final of this $425,000 LAN event. It was Heroic who came out victorious, picking up a 16-11 win on Overpass, dropping 12-16 on Inferno, before coming back to claim the title 19-16 on Mirage.

For Team Heroic, this was a historic win. Not only was it completed on home soil for the Danish team, but it was their first major win, and they became the first all-Danish team to claim victory in the Royal Arena. FaZe, however, will be disappointed, as the side had been looking good in the tournament up until this point, having rebuilt some momentum after crashing out of the IEM Rio Major with no wins.

How the BLAST Premier Fall Final Was Won

Heroic did it the hard way winning their first big event title at the BLAST Premier Fall Final.

The Danish team started sluggishly, quickly finding themselves behind 0-5 on Overpass despite picking the map themselves. Heroic soon woke up, however, getting a win in the sixth and snowballing that to clawback to 5-5 in the first map. Play then went back and forth, with Heroic keeping their noses in front and ultimately winning 16-11, thanks to some excellent plays by cadiaN and jabbi winning 2v5, and stavn winning 1v2.

Over in Inferno, Heroic looked well placed to claim the title with a whitewash, getting up 8-4 at one stage. However, FaZe came back strong through ropz and broky, swinging the set 16-12 in their favour.

That left Mirage as the deciding map, with Heroic getting in front 6-2 and never looking back. With a lead of 11-4 at the switch, Heroic wobbled and let FaZe back into the final at 11-9, before closing it out 19-16 to win their first big event.

Focus Switches to World Finals in December

While Heroic will never forget their first big win, the reality is this result was inconsequential in terms of World Finals qualification.

Both FaZe and Heroic have already qualified for the $1 million event this December, courtesy of their prior results this season. However, Heroic’s performance in Copenhagen has propelled them ahead at the bookmakers, making the Danish side one of the leading favourites ahead of the tournament.
