In Hogwarts Legacy, players will start off with a basic student uniform that has coloring to resemble their chosen house. It’s not much to be inspired about at first, but over the course of Hogwarts Legacy, gamers will acquire lots more outfits and gear to choose from, some of which will alter players’ stats, like defense, health, and attack.

There will probably be a couple of clothing accessories that players won’t vibe with, and in that case, players can indeed sell their items for Galleons. However, items can’t be sold from the menu; players must speak to certain NPCs to do so.

How to Sell Gear in Hogwarts Legacy

Shortly after completing the first few classes in Hogwarts Legacy, players will have to go to Hogsmeade for the first time to pick up some supplies with a classmate.

There are many different stores and shops to explore in the town, but players should speak to Thomas Brown at the Tomes and Scrolls shop; here, players can get rid of unwanted gear in exchange for Galleons. Of course, there are other shopkeepers in Hogsmeade to sell items to, as well, so make sure to explore if you want more options.

Still, the Sell Value for the gear won’t change for different vendors, so it doesn’t matter who players sell the items to.

Should You Sell Gear?

For players wondering if it’s okay to destroy or sell gear in Hogwarts Legacy, it should be fine. Luckily, players can change the appearance of any type of gear in the main menu by hovering over an item and then pressing Square (PS4/PS5).

Hogwarts Legacy players can change the look to match any previously owned piece of gear, even if the player has managed to destroy it or sell it. This means players will have access to all the looks even without said gear being in their inventory. There are ways to increase inventory space in Hogwarts Legacy, but until players gain that ability, they might need to make some space in their pockets.

Hogwarts Legacy is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Switch version is coming later this year.
