Intense Elden Ring Fight Ends in the Most Anticlimactic Way Possible
An intense fight between one Elden Ring player and their foe ends in the most anticlimatic way possible. Elden Ring is home to many battles throughout the many hours that one player spends in The Lands Between. From the hundreds of bosses one could fight to the lesser enemies that are scattered across the map, there is no end to the countless experiences a player could come across, like the high-level players who die 300 times to the ever-powerful Malenia, Blade of Miquella. However, when it comes to these intense fights that will have players struggling just to survive, in some cases, it may not always end in the most climactic way.
One of the smaller, yet still challenging, bosses that players can come across is the Night’s Cavalry, a horse-bound knight wielding a flail or halberd that is found only in the night. There are multiples found throughout the game, and they can be quite difficult to fight if a player isn’t prepared for it. Barring any Night’s Cavalry dying under bizarre circumstances, the player should be in for quite a fight. Being on a horse, they are more mobile and still hit pretty hard, making their fights an intense match.
At least, that’s what one player was hoping for, but in the end, it didn’t turn out that way. Posting to r/Eldenring, user Gojira6832 uploaded a clip of them going up against one of Elden Ring‘s Night’s Cavalry, all the while dressed up as a Crucible Knight, another tough enemy well-known in Elden Ring. The fight seems to be going fine, with the player taking deep blows but drinking to heal from it. Suddenly, the Night’s Cavalry rides behind a nearby strip of ruins and then subsequently off the cliff right next to it. They fall for a moment and then die, giving the win to the player, as well as 84k runes.
In the comments, many users made jokes about the situation, saying either the Night’s Cavalry felt bad or was trying to escape, while others discussed their own Crucible Knight playthrough. While this situation is definitely bizarre, it seems it’s quite common, for there are other documented reports of Night’s Cavalry jumping off cliffs. Perhaps it is due to weird pathing, or their AI just not accounting for strips of ruins.
In a difficult game such as Elden Ring, to be given a win in challenging fights can be a relief to many. It can be due to them falling off a cliff or something like when Mohg gets stuck and is forced to die to prevent soft locks. Whatever it is, even if it is nice to get an easy win once in a while, it can make many fights end in a disappointing way.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
