LEGO Fortnite: How to add animals to your Village: Animal House, Treats, more

LEGO Fortnite‘s April 23 patch finally lets you make animals a permanent part of your Village, and if you’d like to bring some to your base, then this guide will explain how to build an Animal House, how to lure them with Animal Treats, and what they can provide for you.

The 29.30 LEGO Fortnite update is all about farming, and while you’ve always been able to grow crops, the ability to bring animals into your home permanently is a big addition that players have been asking for.

How to build a Barn in LEGO Fortnite

The first thing you need to do is build an Animal House as this is where your animals will live inside your Village. To build one, your Village will need to be Level Two, and you’ll need 10 Planks to construct it.

Place it down inside your Village, so your new friend has somewhere to live.

How to make Animal Treats in LEGO Fortnite

Now that you’ve got somewhere for your animals to live, you’ll need to cook up Animal Treats to lure them back to your Village.

To make them, bring five Vines and three Corn to your Grill. You will then be able to rustle up some Animal Treats to use on livestock.

How to add Animals to your Village in LEGO Fortnite

Now that you have your Animal Treats, find an animal that you want to add to your Village, and start feeding them until they fall in love with you. You’ll know this has happened when hearts appear above their head. The animal will now follow you, so you can lead it back to your Village.

Once there, walk over to your Barn and press the interact button as shown on your screen. You will then be able to assign the animal to its new home.

Each animal produces its own specific resource, so they all fill different purposes in your Village.

• Chickens: Feathers and Fertilizer
• Cows: Milk and Fertilizer
• Sheep: Wool and Fertilizer
• Pigs: Mushrooms and Fertilizer

How many animals can I keep in my Village?

LEGO Fortnite players can keep a maximum of seven animals in their Village. The 29.30 update increased the Village recruitment cap to 10, but some slots are locked for specific types of NPC.

Your Village recruitment slots are made up of:

• Three Villager-only slots
• Three Animal-only slots
• Four slots open to Villagers or Animals

I intend to use one of those open slots for an animal, so I can have one of each type of livestock until I figure out which ones I really need.
