Matrix 5 In The Works With Netflix's Daredevil Creator As Director

Following the release of The Matrix Revolutions in 2023, the Wachowskis denied the possibility of another Matrix film despite Warner Bros.’ interest in expanding the franchise. Still, Lana Wachowski returned to direct The Matrix Resurrections released in 2021, and now, the next The Matrix installment is reportedly underway.

For the first time ever, the new The Matrix movie won’t be directed by any of the Wachowski sisters, although Lana will join as an executive producer. Instead, The Martian and World War Z screenwriter Drew Goddard will lead the production as movie director and writer.
