Megaton Musashi W: Wired Has Plans for Post-Launch Support
Megaton Musashi W: Wired is not only bringing the mecha action RPG to fans around the globe, but it is also adding a plethora of new content from a new rarity for mecha parts to a completed story mode. The Megaton Musashi W: Wired anime covers a lot of this ground, but it has not reached the end. The game will host the full story, bringing it to its conclusion.
That doesn’t mean Megaton Musashi W: Wired is done with this release. The prior version of this game, Megaton Musashi, has been available in Japan for a few years and received constant support and content, including crossovers, for years. Game Rant recently sat down with Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino (via a translator) to discuss Megaton Musashi W: Wired, and we asked about the longevity of this new version, including if this is the end of the road for the game.

One reason that Megaton Musashi W: Wired is releasing worldwide now is because of the new story mode. In a way, this “completes” the beloved game, and the story will reinforce its core ethos of teamwork (which applies even to its multiplayer PvP component). However, just because the game is releasing in a “complete” state, that doesn’t mean the game is done. Just as the game received support in Japan for years, Megaton Musashi W: Wired will also get similar support.

According to Hino, Level-5 has plans to “continue the game and the story as well.” He mentions there are a few possibilities and what those are remains to be seen, though it will likely be more than bug fixes and customer support. This new content could add more general content to the game and new additions to the story, but another possible avenue, depending on Level-5 plans, is more collaborations. In the past, Megaton Musashi has collaborated with other media and Level-5’s own work such as Yo-Kai Watch in the past, and it’ll be interesting to see if this trend continues.
With the game launching on April 25, fans will likely have a long wait before they see how these plans manifest. The good news is that there’s plenty to do in the meantime. Megaton Musashi W: Wired‘s story mode is quite extensive, featuring tons of main quests, side quests, Dreadnought Class Missions, and more. On top of that, its PvP mode is incredibly engaging, and many players will no doubt spend time here perfecting their builds, playing alongside friends, and facing off with people the world over. Megaton Musashi W: Wired isn’t the end of the game’s story; it’s just a brand new chapter.
Megaton Musashi W: Wired is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch.
