Overwatch 2 Players Are Worried That Lifeweaver’s Hitbox Is Too Big

A new Hero coming to Overwatch is always a big shake-up. Not only does the entire meta have to restructure, but players may find a new main, and given the balancing issues that have been plaguing the sequel, a whole lot might need to change again. Until then, however, all we can do is speculate about the newest Hero coming to the game, Lifeweaver.

Lifeweaver is a support hero who, as his name suggests, is adept at healing teammates. On the offensive front, he unleashes a Thorn Volley, in a spread attack. However, while his flower-based abilities seem pretty neat, players are worried about his size – specifically, the size of his hitbox.

Unlike many multiplayer shooters, Overwatch has a wide range of Heroes, each with a unique size and shape. Obviously, the bigger Heroes are easier to aim and shoot at, so the devs compensate by giving them additional HP or a Shield. However, it seems Lifeweaver, despite his tall stature, neither has a shield nor extra HP (thanks GameRant).

Over on the Overwatch Subreddit, players have compared the new support Hero to others in terms of size and HP, and are worried that he’d be an easy target. Looking at the image, you can see that despite being roughly the same size, Ramattra and Junker Queen both have 450 HP, as opposed to Lifeweaver’s 200. Even smaller characters like Zenyatta and Symmetra have a shield.

It’s not only his size that worries players, but Lifeweaver also has massive flower petals on his back, which further increase the size of his hitbox. There are still three days before season four and the launch of the new Hero, perhaps Blizzard will make some changes to his HP before then.

“Snipers and flankers are going to give him an extremely bad time,” said Lil_SmileFPT. “Especially Sombra as she counters a lot of his abilities, she can hack his flower platform to break it immediately, and her EMP can also destroy the tree from his ultimate immediately.”

“Definitely, without the petals on his back being part of his hitbox then maybe 200 HP would be alright, even though he’d still probably be the Support with the biggest hitbox, added The_Void_124. “With his current huge hitbox, it’s surprising to me that he only has 200 HP, I expected him to have more HP just like how Bastion has 300 HP (+ armor + damage reduction while in his E mode) to compensate for his bigger hitbox when compared to other DPS heroes.”

Besides his healing and Thorn Volley, the support hero can also give teammates a vertical platform via his Petal Platform ability; and his Life Grip pulls teammates towards him while protecting them. His Ultimate is called the Tree of Life, which when placed, will continue healing allies in its radius.
