Red Dead Redemption 2 Player Discovers Hilarious Hidden Drunken Dialogue

A Red Dead Redemption 2 player notices a hilarious change in the game’s dialogue when playing as an intoxicated Arthur Morgan.

A Red Dead Redemption 2 player has noticed a hilarious change in the game’s dialogue when playing as an intoxicated Arthur Morgan. It really does appear that Rockstar thought of everything in Red Dead Redemption 2, with seemingly no limit on the randomness of new discoveries.

Half a decade has now passed since Red Dead Redemption 2 was first released, but that hasn’t stopped players from scouring every possible scenario in the game for a brand-new discovery. Whether it’s hunting camp details in Red Dead Redemption 2 or a crazy story detail, every little discovery builds a bigger picture of the attention to detail given to the game. It just seems that there’s no end to what can be discovered by the community. At this point, the details being found are getting small and smaller, but that only makes their inclusion all the more impressive on the developer’s part.

The detail was noticed by Redditor saiyangod223, who posted footage of the drunken dialogue. It takes place during the final Mary Linton mission, when she and Arthur must tail Mary’s father through the streets of Saint-Denis. Drunken Arthur has issues staying quiet during the sneaking mission, with Mary blasting him for this. In response, Arthur is rude to Mary, but instantly apologizes in fear of the response. It’s a hilarious scene that only adds to Arthur and Mary’s relationship in Red Dead Redemption 2.

The discovery seemed to fire up many of the players in the thread. One player even claimed they wanted to “get Arthur hammered on every mission and see if any of the dialogue changes.” It’s certainly an interesting idea, and given the remarkable level of detail in Red Dead Redemption 2, it wouldn’t even be a huge surprise if there were some major differences. It would certainly recontextualize many of the main story points.

It’s this kind of totally random detail that grabs players and draws them into the worlds of Rockstar games. The small touches add a level of quality that few other games reach. With GTA 6 arriving in the next few years, players can look forward to a similar level of detail found in Red Dead Redemption 2, and hopefully more details become clearer as 2023 progresses. As of right now, a new Red Dead Redemption title is something of a pipe dream. Rockstar hasn’t discussed a sequel in any official capacity, but it is thought that the success of the previous title will eventually bring one to release.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
