Redfall: Where to Use Underboss Skulls (& How to Get Them)

Underboss Skulls are items in Redfall that players will receive upon dispatching Vampire Underbosses. While it is not mandatory that fans claim absolutely every skull in the game, these items do play a role in progressing the main story, and they can even be used to obtain some optional cosmetics. As such, it is important that fans secure a solid understanding of Redfall‘s Underboss Skulls, and this guide is here to assist with that endeavor.

Redfall: Where to Use Underboss Skulls

Vampire God Lairs

There are four Vampire Gods in Redfall, and each of their lairs are accessed by placing three Underboss Skulls and a Remnant on a nearby altar. Notably, fans will be pointed toward the precise positions of these lairs as they work through main story missions, and they need not seek them out before that occurs.

Cave at Island Crash Site

There is a cave at the Island Crash Site, and there is podium within it upon which players can place an Underboss Skull. This action will award fans with an outfit for their Redfall character, and the cave can be entered from three locations. One of those locations is shown above, and players that are looking for the podium should simply follow the path into the main chamber.

Tree Near Heritage Rock Safe House

There is a small peninsula to the east of the Heritage Rock Safehouse, and there is an Underboss Skull podium next to a tree that is found there. Once again, Redfall players will receive an outfit for placing a skull on the podium, and they are also likely to encounter a Sin-Eater that is to be dispatched.

Redfall: How to Get Underboss Skulls

As previously noted, Underboss Skulls are obtained by defeating Vampire Underbosses, which are slightly more powerful than the standard vampires that are encountered during exploration. To battle these foes, players must first locate and activate Safehouses in Redfall. For the uninitiated, there is a Safehouse to track down in every one of the game’s neighborhoods, and they are activated by interacting with a nearby generator.

Once a fan has gained access to a Safehouse, they should interact with the Mission Board that is inside, accept the available Safehouse Mission, and complete it. When that is done, players should return to the Mission Board and accept the Vampire Underboss mission that will now be available. This mission will point players directly toward the enemy, and they will be able to collect the Underboss Skull from the ground as soon as the foe has been defeated.
