SaGa Emerald Beyond is Square Enix’s eleventh installment of the mainline SaGa games (and the fifteenth game overall). The game follows six protagonists in five different story routes as they embark on various journeys, all hoping to change their lives.

While the game follows those protagonists, players will meet countless characters along the way. Some of these characters will be recruitable, and others will just help the protagonists out before leaving. Here are all the recruitable characters and everything players need to know about them.

A semi-decent combat system can’t make up for SaGa Emerald Beyond’s inability to capture a player’s attention or help make exploring its worlds fun.

All Recruitable Characters

Here is every recruitable character, their species, what character stories they are available on (called routes) and when they can be recruited. There are eighteen different characters that can be recruited, but six of those characters are the main characters. Additionally, some characters can be found during multiple playthroughs, some are completely missable, some characters have special Roles, and some are specific to certain playthroughs.

Bonnie & Formina	Human	Bonnie & Formina: Immediately upon starting their story.
Shinobu Kato	Human	Ameya: Finish the quest “Cat at Rakunan Station”
Tsunanori Mido	Human	Tsunanori: Immediately upon starting his story.
Ameya Aisling	Human	Ameya: Immediately upon starting her story. Diva: Fight during “Time to End the Calamity”
Goddess Macha	Human	Ameya: Finish “Walking Doll”
Wilma	Human	Diva: Do the “Yellow Battlefield” event and select “Join me” while in the “Witch Waiting for Departure” quest
Lita	Human	Tsunanori: Clear the Witchdom Pulchra
Siugnas	Vampire	Siugnas: Immediately upon starting his story.
Imakoo	Monster (Werewolf)	Tsunanori: During the quest “End of Lust,” select “listen” and then finish the “Wolf’s Howl” quest to begin the Werewolf events and finish both. Then defeat the spirits in “Opening the Castle” and complete Werewolf event 3. Tell Imakoo that Tsunanori needs a werewolf, which will recruit him. You cannot recruit him and Delores while playing as Tsunanori. Diva: Immediately available when met.
