Skyrim Mod Transforms The Dragonborn Into an Assassin’s Creed Character

A Skyrim modder shows off a voice-over mod, making the voice of an iconic Assassin’s Creed protagonist an option for every Dragonborn out there.
A Skyrim modder has released a voice-over mod, that brings the iconic voice of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate‘s Evie Frye as an option for the Dragonborn. Skyrim AI voiceover mods have been an enormous trend recently, with the technology improving at an incredible rate.
The modding scene has been one of the key elements of Skyrim‘s enduring popularity since its initial release. Bethesda has remained committed to bringing the game to each brand-new platform, while the modding community has done its part by bringing massive amounts of content to Skyrim. Right now, players are able to turn Skyrim into any game they want. One Skyrim player modded their game to have Dark Souls-esque combat, showcasing how it can be transformed in so many different ways with the right combination of mods. The community looks to have plenty of legs in it yet, especially with the invention of AI voiceover technology bringing a new innovative layer to modding.
Footage of the mod was posted to YouTube, with the mod itself available on Nexus Mods from user Dexterfly. The clip shows the mod in action, with every line in Skyrim replaced with the voice of Assassin’s Creed‘s Evie Frye as an add-on to the Dragonborn Voiceover mod. According to the mod author, it has full lip sync support, with existing support for the Serana Dialogue add-on mod. In the works is a patch for Interesting NPCs, one of the most popular Skyrim mods of all time.

The Dragonborn Voiceover mod represents perhaps the largest leap for Skyrim modding ever. Bethesda has trialed a voiced protagonist with Fallout 4, and it wasn’t a huge hit with fans. But at this point, Skyrim is a well-traveled path for most gamers, who want something to freshen up the experience. A voiced protagonist is ideal for this. Modders have even been busy implementing other iconic video game characters into Skyrim. Another modder brought a Master Chief voice pack into Skyrim, bringing Halo’s protagonist into Bethesda’s iconic RPG.
While AI voice acting will likely become a crucial part of modding in the coming years, it’s unlikely it’ll be used during the development of The Elder Scrolls 6. There are just far too many ethical and legal questions surrounding the technology at the moment, which could take years to clear up. As well as this, it may not be good enough yet for professional use at Bethesda’s level of quality. Despite this, there’s no denying the swift progress the technology has made recently, with AI voice acting even being used in the recent High on Life. Hopefully, the industry is able to define clear guidelines for AI voice technology. If done as ethically as possible, it opens up a new world of opportunity for everyone.
