Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Has Serious Game-Breaking Bug You Will Want to Avoid

A Star Wars Jedi: Survivor player warns of a hidden, but serious game-breaking bug which may force players to start the game over entirely.

The launch weekend for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has seen it suffering from a variety of issues affecting general performance, but a player is now warning others of a serious and potentially game-breaking bug which may force players to start over entirely. Some of the issues have been affecting the gameplay experience in different ways, whether it be a random game crash or PS5 players suffering from HDR performance, but players have been able to continue from where they are at. This latest bug, though, may now sit among the most serious problems players will want Respawn to address sooner rather than later.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, with Jedi Cal Kestis continuing his fight to survive in a galaxy where the Galactic Empire continues to tighten its grip. Kestis is once again joined by former Jedi Master Cere, the Nightsister Merrin, and cantankerous pilot Greez in this quest to find a new home, safe from the Empire’s gaze, where they may be able to find a small degree of peace. To do so, players will need to explore from the far reaches of the Outer Rim to the sublevels of Coruscant if they hope to survive in this dangerous galaxy.

Reddit user Weird_Cantaloupe2757 is the player responsible for discovering the latest game-breaking bug by an area titled the Chamber of Duality. They said once players complete the chamber and exit via a nearby elevator, they should immediately meditate and save at the nearest Meditation site to ensure they can continue without issue. If they don’t and die, Cantaloupe warns they will be sent back inside the chamber where fast travel at the chamber’s Meditation point is disabled and the elevator won’t open, forcing players to start the entire game over.

Cantaloupe’s post was met with many users either thanking them for the warning before reaching the area, or echoing Cantaloupe’s experience with the bug. Regardless of their experiences, the overall sentiment was one of frustration about the state of the game, especially given the positive reviews Jedi: Survivor has received. There were some users, though, who did push back against some of the criticism by citing how difficult QA testing can be and the nature of this bug could have made it very easy to miss.

Ultimately, it would not be surprising if this bug becomes a priority for Respawn as the studio works to get hot fixes and updates out to fix the various issues plaguing the game. Respawn already spoke on these issues, especially on PC, assuring players the studio is acting as quickly as it can and to expect an update on when these fixes will start rolling out soon.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is currently available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
