Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Will Let Cal Ride A Speeder Bike

The final gameplay trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has just debuted at Star Wars Celebration and it shows Cal riding on a speeder bike and going up against Droidekas.
We’re just a few short weeks away from the release of the next adventure in Cal Kestis’ adventure – Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Although we recently had a bunch of new gameplay footage and details released from press previews (including our own you can check out here), Respawn decided that wasn’t enough and has shared a final gameplay trailer that shows off some exciting new things.
The trailer begins by showing Cal waking up on an unknown desert planet, before showing him talking to Cere about having the “weight of the galaxy on your shoulders”. Cal is shown exploring several planets, like Koboh and Coruscant, and going up against Stormtroopers while using four of the five different stances in the game. We sadly didn’t get to see the Blaster stance, which Respawn is still being cagey about.

One of the most exciting bits of the gameplay trailer shows Cal riding on a speeder bike across the desert (presumably Koboh at night) while going up against Scout Troopers and sending them flying into a Tie-Fighter. Respawn lead Stig Asmussen said this whole sequence was “real”, meaning that it’s not scripted and the player will be able to control Cal on a speeder bike at some point in the game. It’s not clear yet if it’ll just be for the one gameplay sequence or if it’ll be available in more than one place.
The rest of the trailer has more of a focus on combat and gives us one of our best looks yet at the Crossguard stance. It appears to be the heaviest of the stances so far, but it also gives Cal a dropkick attack that will instantly become the only move I ever use. One shot in the trailer also shows Cal going up against Droidekas, who were previously confirmed to appear in the game by Respawn but hadn’t yet been shown until this trailer.
Cameron Monaghan and Stig Asmussen both stuck around the talk about the trailer after it was shown, with Monaghan relentlessly asking whether ponchos are going to be in the sequel. Monaghan also asked everyone in attendance not to spoil the game when they get it, as the ending is “so cool”. Asmussen refused to give an answer on whether ponchos were going to be in the game, but considering how much they’ve been memed about since the first game’s launch, it would be a big missed opportunity not to.
