Tales of the Shire Turns The Lord of the Rings into a Hobbit Life Sim

Private Division has announced its Hobbit life simulator Tales of the Shire will release for PS5 later this year. Confirmed in an all-new reveal trailer viewable above, it matches stylised visuals with simulation mechanics like home decoration, friendship making, and exploration.

Any other confirmed details are scarce, though we know the game will be developed by Weta Workshop, which has a history in special effects for films and TV shows. The official page on the Private Division website then adds: “Your cosy Hobbit life awaits in Tales of the Shire, a heart-warming, new, The Lord of the Rings game due out in 2024 on console and PC.”
