The latest sneak peak of Stardew Valley's 1.6 patch notes has raised some questions from players

Have you ever learned about something in one of your favorite games and thought “wait, that was a thing?” Well that’s exactly what’s happened with ConcernedApe’s latest Tweet regarding the upcoming 1.6 patch to Stardew Valley.

Confused Stardew Valley players are united in bemusement over ConcernedApe’s latest Tweet:

As it turns out, there’s a mechanic in Stardew Valley that it seems the majority of players have never witnessed, but it’s one that the developer is going to fix with the implementation of patch 1.6.

Apparently, until this point, if you marry one of the NPCs in the game, there’s a chance that they will become so depressed that they’ll spend all day in bed, even though they’ve just got married.

This isn’t something I’ve ever witnessed while playing myself and upon asking my Stardew Valley playing friends, they’ve never witnessed it either. This has led people to ask what on earth players are doing to their spouses to make this happen.

The post also sparked a lot of requests for the ability to marry certain NPCs that can currently not be married, such as Willy or Robin. The number of people asking for this is pretty shocking, actually. I’m not sure why so many people want to marry Willy, but to each their own I suppose.

This Tweet is the latest in a string of ConcernedApe Tweets detailing small updates that are coming in patch 1.6, with the others being:

  • Fruit Trees will yield Saplings of the same fruit
  • Harvesting will be at the same speed in either direction
  • Larger area of effect for downward Melee attacks will be larger
  • Moving past pets will now take less time

Who’s to know what else will be revealed before the patch notes drop on March 19, but stay tuned for more tidbits of information!
