The Witcher 3 Cosplayer Makes Live-Action Video That Looks Exactly Like The Game

The Witcher 3 cosplayers have recreated the third-person combat in live-action, and it’s impressively similar to the original gameplay. Some viewers have even expressed their confusion, wondering which modern system these top-notch graphics are running on.

CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher series has had a significant impact on the open-world genre, especially with the release of its latest instalment, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Even years after its release, many studios continue to seek inspiration from this iconic RPG. However, nothing quite matches the experience of playing The Witcher. Maybe the next Witcher game, which is still years away, will, but like I said… it’s years away. In the meantime, fans are left to fill the gap with their own creative projects.

Content creator renoleephoto recently shared an impressive Witcher cosplay video on Reddit, showcasing their beautifully crafted armour and weapons. However, instead of just posing outdoors as you’d expect, they added a special twist by performing combat moves, later adding a Noonwraith monster created with visual effects and the Wild Hunt’s signature UI. The resulting footage is so faithful to The Witcher 3’s combat gameplay that some viewers have been left wondering whether it’s another chapter in The Witcher saga being teased right there. Maybe even a sneaky glimpse at the fourth game.

Fans were quick to assume that the cosplay footage was created using the definitely-real, not-at-all made-up Unreal Engine 6, especially since the next game in the series is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 instead of Red Engine. Viewers also praised the camerawork, with Redditor Killingec24 stating, “Well done! The camera positioning and the UI really sell it.” However, some pointed out some inconsistencies from the original game, with one Redditor jokingly saying, “Not enough rolling around,” in reference to Geralt’s iconic combat moves.

CD Projekt Red’s decision to step away from the Cyberpunk 2077 universe for a while after just one game is a clear indication of how eager players are to see the next chapter in the Witcher series. Despite the success of Cyberpunk 2077, CDPR is moving full steam ahead with several new Witcher games. We know there’s a spin-off, a sequel, and a remake of the game that started it all, the first step beyond author Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels.

However, there’s no information on when any of these projects will be released. Nonetheless, the future of the series looks brighter than ever before, and fans can’t wait to see what CDPR has in store for them next. Maybe it’ll even look as good as this live-action clip.
