Ubisoft Plus Coming To Xbox Imminently, Says Insider

Ubisoft Plus should be coming to Xbox “imminently”, following rumours of the service expanding outside of PC and PlayStation. It could even be rolled into existing Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, although that rumour is less certain right now.
This comes after reports of the service coming to Xbox were shared back in February, as it’s currently only available on PlayStation for console players. Considering that it’s already tied into one of PlayStation Plus’ subscription tiers, that bodes well for it coming packaged along with Game Pass, although it’s not clear if this would come at an extra cost.
This latest Ubisoft Plus development comes from Xbox-centric industry insider, Jez Corden. In a tweet, he says that “Ubisoft+ on Xbox is likely imminent”, tying in with previous rumours on the matter.
Corden then says he’s “not sure yet” when asked about the possibility of it coming to Game Pass, suggesting that a deal between Ubisoft and Xbox isn’t set in stone just yet, even if the service is poised to join the platform.

If Ubisoft Plus get chucked in with existing Game Pass subscriptions, this would become one of the cheapest ways to use the service. Right now, Ubisoft Plus’ cheapest option starts at £12.99 a month. Otherwise, you can nab it on PlayStation in every subscription that’s at least PS Plus Extra, which starts at £10.99 a month. On Xbox, it would likely be included in Game Pass Ultimate, alongside EA Play, which is also £10.99 a month.
Of course, Corden doesn’t know for sure if it will be included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It seems likely, given that Ubisoft already has a similar arrangement with Sony, but that’s not guaranteed. If it were to launch on its own though, it would be considerably more expensive than Game Pass – which it would be trying to compete with on its own platform. Expecting users to chuck in an extra £12.99 on top of other subscriptions would be ambitious, to say the least. Or just outright unlikely.
It would also make sense for Ubisoft to get its subscription service running on both Xbox and PlayStation as soon as possible, as it has a whole lot of big releases on its schedule. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to be with us at some point this year, and Skull and Bones should finally make an appearance in 2023, after far too many delays to go over here. Seriously, remember when it was meant to be a 2018 release? Wild.
