UNIQLO's Recent Ad Was Created by Blender Artist Dedouze
Dédouze, a world-famous 3D Blender Artist known for his unique-looking retrofuturistic animations that combine 2D and 3D elements, has recently shared a couple of demos shedding some light on his collaboration with fashion design company UNIQLO.
A few days ago, UNIQLO shared an advert for their linen shirts over on Instagram, which proved once again that even commercials can become artistic masterpieces when their creators put their minds to it. Boasting Dédouze’s iconic art style, the ad in question was brought to life using the artist’s go-to 3D software, Blender, along with Grease Pencil, a special Blender object that allows you to draw in the 3D space.
Following the ad’s reveal, Dédouze has taken to Twitter to offer a behind-the-scenes look at the project, showcase some concepts and backgrounds prepared for it, and share a glimpse at his Grease Pencil workflow. According to the creator, he was responsible for nearly all aspects of the commercial, including design, animation, and soundtrack.
