Valkyrie Elysium: How to Get All Endings

Valkyrie Elysium, the latest entry in the Valkyrie Profile series, is an action RPG that strays from the turn-based formula of previous games. Yet one thing it does have in common with its predecessors is that it has multiple endings. Despite being a fairly short game in comparison to other JRPGs published by Square Enix, Valkyrie Elysium has four different endings.

Fortunately, all four endings can be seen on a single playthrough since clear data puts players at the start of Chapter 9, which is the final chapter in the game. This guide will show players how they can get all four endings in Valkyrie Elysium.

All Valkyrie Elysium Endings and How to Get Them

Get All Verdant Blossoms

The first thing that Valkyrie Elysium players will need to do is find all nine of the glowing green flowers called Verdant Blossoms.

Four of them are found in Galdban Territory, one is in Lucardan Territory, two are in Romalian Territory, and two are in the Serpent’s Nest. Verdant Blossoms show up on the in-game map as small, fiery green circles.

One important thing for Valkyrie Elysium players to keep in mind is that not all Verdant Blossoms can be found in a single chapter. For example, the two Verdant Blossoms in Romalian Territory can only be picked up in Chapters 6 and 7. In some cases, especially in Chapter 7, the Verdant Blossom will be located on a different map that is further in the Chapter. So it is recommended that Valkyrie Elysium players keep a close eye on the map as they progress. Verdant Blossoms can only be found during Main Missions and not Side Quests.

Sometimes, players will need to find a way around a locked door or grab a key to access the room where a Verdant Blossom is located. If Valkyrie Elysium players happen to miss one or more Verdant Blossoms, they can replay the Chapter and retrieve them later. That said, players should be aware that once they load into a Chapter again, they must complete it. Simply grabbing the Verdant Blossom and trying to return to Valhalla will result in losing the Verdant Blossom and having to go back for it.

The ninth and final Verdant Blossom can only be obtained once the eight before it have been collected by Valkyrie Elysium players. One important detail to know is that gathering all nine of the Verdant Blossoms is only mandatory for the fourth ending. The first, second, and third endings can be obtained regardless of how many of the Verdant Blossoms that players have found.

Kill Fenrir Ending

To get the first ending, Valkyrie Elysium players must proceed through Chapter 9 as normal. For this ending, players must not pick up the final Verdant Blossom. Players looking to get the first ending should avoid talking to Armand, as talking to him is part of the second, third, and fourth endings. After following the path forward, players will eventually find themselves facing off against Fenrir. This consists of several battles, with Fenrir ultimately being the last boss.

As with any boss in Valkyrie Elysium, players will need to damage Fenrir with the element she is weak to in order to stun her. Once she falls, Valkyrie Elysium players will unlock the first ending.

Choose to Leave Ending

For the second ending, Valkyrie Elysium players must avoid picking up the final Verdant Blossom. The next step is to find Armand in Chapter 9 and talk to him. After several cutscenes play, Armand will give players a choice to go with him. If Valkyrie Elysium players accept his offer, they will unlock the second ending, and the credits will roll. There is no final boss for this ending. This is a good option for players looking to complete this mission quickly and get S-Rank since time and damage taken are a factor.

Kill Odin Ending

Unlocking the third ending in Valkyrie Elysium is very similar to the second ending. In order to get the third ending, players will need to talk to Armand and reject his offer while not picking up the final Verdant Blossom.

From that point, Valkyrie Elysium players will go through Chapter 9 as normal. But right up to the point where the final fight against Fenrir would have happened, a different set of cutscenes will play. After confronting Odin, players will have to fight their Einherjar allies. After that, the final fight will be against Odin. Once he dies, Valkyrie Elysium players will get to watch the third ending.

Kill Fenrir and Odin Ending

valkyrie-elysium-how-to-get-all-endings5

The fourth and true ending of Valkyrie Elysium will require players to have gotten eight of the nine Verdant Blossoms first. Before talking to Armand, players must pick up the ninth Verdant Blossom in Chapter 9. After that, Valkyrie Elysium players will need to talk to Armand and reject his offer. From this point, players will proceed through Chapter 9 as they would for the first and third endings.

Once players enter Fenrir’s domain, events will play out much differently than they did in the previous endings. Players will need to fight some enemies alongside Hilde and then confront Fenrir. Once Fenrir has been slain, players will fight Odin in his human form, followed by his true form.

Unlike previous bosses, Odin does not have an elemental weakness during the final battle. Once Odin is defeated in the final battle, players will unlock the true ending of Valkyrie Elysium.

Valkyrie Elysium is available now on PS4 and PS5. It will be available for PC on November 11th.
