Warzone Season 3 Reloaded spells bad news for fans of Urzikstan

All signs point toward Raven Software not making any changes to Urzikstan in Season 3 Reloaded, and players are starting to get worried about the future of their favorite battle royal map.

Season 3 Reloaded starts on May 1. Raven Software provided a sneak peek at what’s in store for the upcoming update. Notably, there wasn’t any mention of changes to Urzikstan or the traditional battle royale game mode mentioned in the blog post. After two straight seasonal updates focused on adding two new Resurgence maps, players assumed that Urzikstan would finally get some much-needed shine in Season 3 Reloaded.

It appears that they were sorely mistaken, as CharlieIntel reports, “There are no updates or changes to Urzikstan in Warzone with Season 3 Reloaded. The blog just says the story within the new bunkers continue.”

To rub more salt in the wound, CharlieIntel also confirmed there would be no updates on when or if Ranked Play for standard battle royale matches will be included in Season 3 Reloaded. The competitive game mode rotates to a new map every season. After rotating between two Resurgence maps so far, it would have made sense for the devs to show some love to traditional battle royale fans, but that doesn’t appear to be in the cards.

Warzone players expressed disappointment over the lack of support for their preferred experience. “It’s just sad. I get the interest for Resurgence and they are right to pursue it, but they could also in parallel work on what made Warzone what it is/was. They have enough resources,” CoD content creator Warzone Loadout argued.

As for why Urzikstan is getting less attention, Resurgence draws in more players. The game mode is fast-paced, and the maps are designed to support non-stop action. The ability to respawn makes it easier for players to be aggressive without needing to back out and load into a new match. And for the cherry on top, Rebirth Island is widely regarded as one of the best Warzone maps of all-time, so it’s return has been a revelation for the title.

CharlieIntel backed up that evidence by claiming, “Seems like Resurgence player count is out pacing BR’s much more than expected, so they’ve slowed down BR content for now. cannot see any reason otherwise,”

On the contrary, CoD content creator IceManIsaac pushed back against that belief and blamed the devs for “neglecting” the game mode. “BR is down because they added NOTHING of value over five months. The map is barren with only 100 players, no exciting LTMs, no hot drop POIs, rampant texture bugs, constant server issues, no ranked playlist, and more. They intentionally killed it,” IceManIsaac said.

Regardless of why Urzikstan is getting less support, Raven Software changed its course of action over the past season and a half, and this trend shows no signs of changing anytime soon.
