World of Warcraft Classic begins Season of Discovery Phase 3 in April

Dust off your warlock tanks; the next phase of Season of Discovery is coming to World of Warcraft Classic. On April 4, the MMO raises its level cap to 50, adds new runes, and perhaps most notably, The Sunken Temple becomes a 20-person raid.

The Sunken Temple, also known as the Temple of Atal’Hakkar, is WoW Classic’s first 20-player raid dungeon, pitting you against eight bosses for the clear. Because this is the Season of Discovery, expect a handful of new epics as well as adjusted favorite drops. These will help supplement new skills and content in this remixed version of WoW Classic.

One of the biggest of Season of Discovery includes its latest rune update. Each class can discover six new, unique runes to infuse their gear with new abilities. Players can expect to find them while leveling from 40 to 50 rather than having to wait until the level cap to find them. New rune examples include things like Druids casting Barkskin on other players. This can be while in animal form, with none of the spell’s drawbacks. Another rune gives the Paladin’s Consecrate the ability to deal critical strike damage.

New Nightmare Incursion World Events also launch with Season of Discovery. Players will be able to access the Emerald Dream portals across the world. They can summon bosses from The Nightmare for experience and Emerald Warden reputation. These will be a great way for leveling players to get a boost.

For fans of PVP, each class will be receiving a new 6-piece armor set. Additionally, large changes are coming to the Blood Moon event. This event turns Stranglethorn Vale into a bloody free-for-all. Even your own faction-mates won’t be safe from your blades.
