CoD Warzone players reveal surprising pick for game's best mode

Warzone has a host of modes, designed to allow everyone to play the battle royale however they want. While you might think teaming up with your buddies is the ultimate Warzone experience, the Reddit community begs to differ with a surprising pick for best mode.

When Warzone was first released in March 2020, it was all about the battle royale aspect of the game. There were no other playlist options and no limited-time modes—it was all about jumping into matches, and hoping you didn’t die. These days, you can jump into Resurgence matches that offer second chances, or take part in fun LTMs like the current High Trip mode.

Despite these new additions, however, it’s one of Warzone‘s classic modes that players say is the game’s best: Battle Royale Solos.

In a post, labeled “Unpopular opinion,” webuildmountains wrote that the mode was a blend of “skill and luck,” and discussed how they enjoyed not having to worry about teammates letting them down: “Battle Royale Solos is Battle Royale the way it was meant to be played.”

While they may have thought it was an unpopular opinion, it’s clear from the comments that’s not the case. “Yeah, it’s really fun and [the] end-game is nerve-wracking, I love it,” agreed one fan, while another wrote: “Solos is the only thing that keeps the BR spirit alive.”

It’s certainly an interesting discussion, but not one that I agree with personally. I find BR Solos to be a test of patience rather than a fun experience, and that’s why I try to avoid it. When I play Solos, it stops being a Battle Royale and becomes a hide-and-seek simulator, with opponents refusing to come out and skulking along the edge of the play area, desperate to avoid gunfights in the hope of making it to the end.

That’s why Resurgence modes are my personal favorite, as the respawn mechanics encourage you to get into the action, rather than hide away. Growing up as a CoD multiplayer grinder probably has something to do with it, but I find Warzone Solos even play much slower than Fortnite Solos, and they’re just not for me.

For many though, it’s Warzone at its finest, and as long as you’re playing and enjoying the game, that’s all that matters.
