Sadly, the star that burns the brightest is also the most CPU-hungry, meaning that it can cause even people with high-spec PCs to run into performance hiccups.

Yes, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will hit you so hard that it might bring you to your knees together with your 3080. Not having a silky-smooth 60 fps experience is more than enough for PC gamers to begin plotting murder and, wouldn’t you know it, Capcom previously stated that the amount of living NPCs is directly connected to the game’s framerate. What comes next should not surprise you.

Because the announcement of the NPC-FPS tie-in and the performance hiccups came before the game’s release, soon-to-be fans couldn’t just tone down their graphics settings to see if their PC could handle the game just fine. Thus they began trying to learn which NPCs would matter for the main plot, and which ones existed solely for the extraction of the delicious frames they greedily kept inside their vital organs.

As spotted by GamesRadar, players are already wondering whether they should just kill all non-essential NPCs as soon as the game loads, and if it’s ok to kill any NPC after they’re done with their questline. Naturally, Reddit has been having a lot of fun lately.
