Chapter 128: Infiltrating the headquarters of the TV show inspection teams

The night passed swiftly.

Come morning, Wang Yun dressed himself and stood before the mirror, activating his god-level acting skills. Reflected back was the dashing visage of a successful middle-aged man. This was Wang Yun’s last disguise with a legitimate identity. Pleased with his appearance, he allowed a satisfied smile to cross his face.

In the next moment, he donned a pair of glasses, and his entire demeanor underwent a dramatic transformation. Pulling some cash from a bag, he made his way to a car rental agency and picked out a luxury vehicle. He then drove toward the downtown area where the TV show inspection team was located, a place he was well-acquainted with. fre𝚎w𝐞bn𝗼v𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝗼𝚖

Previously, he had implanted a virus in the Death Factory game, enabling him to monitor their locations and pinpoint their new gathering place.

However, as Wang Yun made his way toward the TV show inspection teams’ location, the viewers watching the live stream were visibly shocked.

“What’s going on? Why is Big Brother heading there? What’s he planning to do?”

“No idea. Big Brother is operating under an entirely new identity now, his last remaining legitimate identity. What’s he aiming to achieve?”

“He’s approaching the TV show inspection team’s area. It seems like Big Brother is gearing up for a bold move!”

“Isn’t he worried about being detected by the inspection team? They can now see through his disguises!”

“It seems like Big Brother is up to something big!”

Viewers were abuzz, deeply intrigued by Wang Yun’s actions.

Despite having the option to escape to other cities, he chose not to. Instead, he headed straight for the stronghold of the TV show inspection teams.

What was he plotting? Was he gearing up to make another powerful move?

Indeed, Wang Yun was on a mission to shake things up.

After being on the run for so long, he was now poised for a counterattack, aiming to turn the hunters into the hunted at the very heart of the TV show inspection teams’ base. This counterstrike, however, was not a mere act of recklessness. His planned assault was bound to take all national TV show inspection teams by surprise.

They could never have anticipated that he would attack them at this time and place.

Upon reaching the area, Wang Yun parked his car aside, settled into the driver’s seat, pulled out his laptop, and began hacking into the local surveillance network. He waited with a smile, anticipating what was to come.

“Hmm?”

“The TV show staff have relayed crucial information. Wang Yun’s movements aren’t limited to Nancheng, he’s free to move to other cities. In turn, the show’s staff dispatched officers to these areas to simulate detailed and authentic surveillance. This network of inspectors is fully prepared to coordinate their efforts and confront him wherever he may go.”

Simultaneously, the inspection teams across various nations were alerted to this information.

The Chinese inspection team members were visibly shocked by the news, their concern evident in their furrowed brows. This was far from good news, in fact, it was very bad news.

“It makes sense and is only fair. With inspection teams from over a dozen countries trying to capture Wang Yun, we can’t just prevent him from leaving the city. Letting him escape freely aligns more with the reality of the situation,” Ying Yuezi remarked, her brow furrowed. “However, this will significantly increase the difficulty of our arrest operation.”

“Exactly. If he’s globe-trotting with the ability to disguise his appearance, how are we supposed to catch him? If he decides to hide out in some remote village, he’ll be virtually untraceable,” Wu Yaoming added, his expression mirroring Ying’s concern. “This gives Wang Yun a tremendous advantage.”

“That’s the harsh truth. Our initial restrictions to arrest him were much more to our advantage. Given that the TV show staff said that there are program inspectors in other cities, our first step should be to cut off access to disguise materials in those areas. Since such materials are seldom used, they should be fairly straightforward to restrict,” Wu Mingyu chimed in, massaging his temples. “Our main issue now is that we’re still in the dark about Wang Yun’s last identity. It would be much easier if we could uncover it.”

“This is a problem, and another headache is that Wang Yun might have already left Nancheng or is about to. With a real ID in hand, he could easily board a plane to some distant location,” noted a middle-aged man from the side.

This man was clearly not from China.

Within the Chinese task force office, aside from Wu Mingyu and the four other Captains, there were an additional five members. Among them stood a towering figure about two meters tall. He was Captain Dragon Hand from the Indian inspection team.

The inspection teams from India and China had now joined forces, united by their shared encounters with Wang Yun’s formidable nature and agreeing to work together.

“I think him leaving by plane is unlikely, considering the challenge of transporting weapons and firearms. It’s improbable he’d leave his weapons behind, especially since obtaining weapons in our country is virtually impossible,” Wang Yue reasoned. “I lean toward the possibility that he left Nancheng by driving or taking a bus.”

“Highly possible.”

Her reasoning and speculation earned nods of agreement from the five Indian Captains.

“There’s logic in that. However, there are many ways to leave Nancheng, making our efforts to arrest him exceptionally complicated if he manages to leave,” Wu Mingyu acknowledged, his eyes reflecting a steadfast resolve. “Therefore, we must ensure that Wang Yun does not escape Nancheng.”

“The fact that Wang Yun has a disguise mask is still a problem. Only Master Jue Ming and a few others among us can identify him,” Ying Yuezi added, addressing the group.

“We have a solution,” interjected Captain Dragon Hand, catching everyone’s attention.

“Oh?”

His statement briefly surprised Wu Mingyu and the others, prompting them to turn toward him with keen interest.

“Yesterday, we undertook some additional preparations,” Captain Dragon Hand revealed with a smile, taking out a device.

“Retinal scanning technology,” announced Captain Dragon Hand, placing the device on the table before him. “Every individual has unique fingerprints, DNA, and retinas that are immutable. While fingerprints and DNA have limited utility in identifying Wang Yun, retinal scanning is different. We managed to record Wang Yun’s retinal pattern in yesterday’s encounter. A simple scan with this device can immediately identify him, which is very convenient.”

“Hm? That indeed sounds like an effective strategy,” Kolyev said, visibly impressed and pleasantly surprised. “With this approach, we could seal all of Nancheng’s exits and employ the retinal scanners for identification.”

“We have enough devices here, but it requires a large number of program officers to block the exits from Nancheng,” added Captain Dragon Hand.

“There’s no need for a large deployment. If Wang Yun attempts to leave by vehicle, he’s likely to use a disguise. Placing a single program officer equipped with a scanner at each exit should be enough. Once identified, we can swiftly dispatch a helicopter which makes it easier to arrest or kill him. This way, we don’t need to waste too much manpower,” Wu Mingyu replied.

“Alright, you can arrange this,” Captain Dragon Hand and his colleagues concurred with a nod.

“I wonder how the other inspection teams will act.”

***

“Wang Yun’s profile, including height and weight with an accuracy within five percent, has been uploaded into the thermal imaging drones, ready to be deployed at Nancheng’s major exits.”

“Continuously monitor the city’s bus, train, high-speed rail, and flight departures, scrutinizing the daily exodus of people. Anyone resembling Wang Yun should be immediately followed.”

“Differences in physique and stature among individuals are key. We cannot afford to let Wang Yun slip through our grasp. Capturing him afterward would become significantly harder.”

“With Wang Yun assuming a new identity, he’s likely to take up residence in hotels. We’ll comb through all recent hotel registrations in Nancheng since Wang Yun adopted his new identity, singling out anyone who matches his physical description or seems suspicious for closer observation.”

As this unfolded, inspection teams from other nations, informed of Wang Yun’s potential departure from Nancheng, sprung into action.

Utilizing cutting-edge search methodologies and comprehensive search strategies, teams from fourteen countries mobilized. Their combined efforts unleashed an astonishing level of efficiency.

***

“666! Awesome! Awesome! The inspection teams from the various programs are really impressive!”

“We’ve partnered with India’s team, using retinal scanning technology, stands apart. Whereas most other teams across the globe cast a wide net based on physical characteristics and height, utilizing thermal imaging to discern one’s appearance, disregarding facial features.”

“The approach taken by Singapore is especially astute, targeting major hotels to sift through guest information. This tactic is bound to lead us to our target!”

“As the inspection teams from fourteen countries intensify their search for Big Brother, they couldn’t possibly imagine that he is merely a stone’s throw away, pondering his next move.”

Viewers in the live streams of various countries’ inspection teams were abuzz with conversation, expressing mild astonishment at their tactics and strategies.

The techniques employed by each inspection team were notably effective and sophisticated. However, their actions all shared one drawback, which was the need for time. After all, it was casting a wide net.

Casting such a wide net, like scrutinizing the accommodation records of every hotel, necessitated at least a day or two to complete.

***

Wang Yun, seated in a luxury car parked along the street, observed as program officers walked from time to time, his eyes twinkling with anticipation. He had little interest in confronting the average inspection officer. His sights were set on the elite core members from the inspection teams of various countries.

After understanding some of the surroundings, Wang Yun drove around. He found an optimal spot for the attack.

Since he decided to act, it would definitely be a long-range sniper attack.

In the afternoon, he bought ropes, planning his escape route. With arrangements in place, his lips curved into a slight smile. At the sniping location, he meticulously assembled his sniper rifle, positioning it for the operation.

Glancing at the time, it was nearing 7 PM.

Wang Yun stepped onto the street, surveying the crowd with narrowed eyes, and communicated through the technology chip, “Send three or four TV crew members here. I plan to beat up some pedestrians, the kind that lands them straight in intensive care. Make it convincingly real, and ideally, include a woman among them.”

Wang Yun’s abrupt statement momentarily dumbfounded everyone in the production team’s control room. Likewise, the live broadcast’s audience was visibly shocked, their expressions a mix of astonishment and confusion.

What was happening?

“??? What’s Big Brother up to?”

“He wants to call over the staff only to beat them up?”

“Big Brother must be plotting some ingenious scheme, without a doubt!”

The audience was left bewildered after spending the day watching Big Brother roam about, only for him to then make such an unexpected request to the TV crew.

“Uh… Brother Wang, what’s this about?” came the perplexed question from the production team, their voice echoing through the technology chip.

“Given that I now possess an identity, if I were to seriously injure a few people I’d be arrested, right? They’d lock me up in prison without notifying the TV show inspection teams, correct? This would mirror reality, wouldn’t it?” Wang Yun asked, his voice bright and his face beaming with a smile.

“Yes, that’s correct. The current TV show inspection teams function like special task forces dedicated solely to arrest you. If you commit an assault under this identity, the arrest wouldn’t be disclosed to the other inspection teams. It’s realistic. But Wang Yun, what exactly are you intending to do?” the executive producer quickly responded, eager to clarify.

In essence, the inspection teams from fourteen countries serve as specialized units tasked with Wang Yun’s arrest. They wouldn’t meddle in other citywide incidents, leaving those to the real police officers.

In such a scenario, if Wang Yun were to attack someone under his true identity, the inspection teams would remain oblivious to this development. Following standard protocol, Wang Yun would then be arrested and incarcerated in prison.

“I want to assault someone and go to prison,” Wang Yun said, his smile widening into a grin.

***

“Damn, damn?? Is Big Brother actually planning to get himself to jail?”

“This is… unbelievable, pure genius! Damn, I’m basically checking myself into prison, so how are you TV show inspection teams supposed to arrest me now?”

“What kind of masterstroke is this? If I’m already in jail, where will you find me to arrest?”

“Right now, the inspection teams from fourteen countries are all on high alert to prevent Big Brother from escaping the city, and what’s the outcome?? Big Brother’s plan is to voluntarily walk into prison?”

“This strategy is just too slick, isn’t it? Can he really do this?”

The livestream viewers were visibly shocked and bewildered upon learning of Wang Yun’s scheme.

Was such a thing even possible?

You, the inspection teams from fourteen countries, are after me? Fine, I’ll just send myself to prison. Now, how do you plan to catch me? Isn’t this tactic a bit too ingenious?

***

“Alright.”

The executive producer, upon processing Wang Yun’s declaration, thought of Hu Sanqing and the others, his eyes gleaming with insight, piecing together bits of Wang Yun’s strategy.

“People will be there in three minutes,” the executive producer added.

Wang Yun nodded, patiently awaiting their arrival. Intent on orchestrating his own imprisonment in a real jail, he knew he had to simulate a grave crime. However, actual violence was out of the question, so he arranged for the TV crew’s staff to put on a convincing performance.

“Brother Wang, they’re here, the three ahead of you, equipped with blood bags to ensure a believable enactment,” announced the executive producer after three minutes.

Wang Yun nodded, and with a flick of his wrist, a scalpel appeared in his hand.

His eyes locked onto the three staff members. Moving swiftly toward them, as he approached, he launched into a sudden assault.

“Ah, die!” he roared loudly, attacking the three young men and women directly.

The three staff members were also well-prepared. Seeing Wang Yun attacking with terrifying speed, they couldn’t even react in time. One staff member was hit by Wang Yun, who immediately crushed the blood bag on his body.

“Ah, help!” he screamed in terror and despair.

Their performance was flawless.
